Want to take reg off bottle!!

Chrismrgn,

Dont worry that you missed it, I will try to summarise:

Air regs are now locktited on to the bottles at the factory.

This is due to an accident in America which was caused ironically enough, by the improper use of locktite, to glue a reg to a bottle.

Even though the regs were designed to be safe WITHOUT using locktite, we now cant be trusted to just screw the reg onto the bottle properly, so now all bottles now come with a reg locktited on rock solid.

If you ever want your bottle tested then you need to remove the bottle from the reg, otherwise it will fail the test.

Removing these bottles can be a struggle. When the bottle is removed, ensure all the locktite residue is removed.
So send it off to Tom is your best bet.

All regs from PMI are now loctited and torqued on. They are fixed in such a manner that technically the average Joe public should not be bale to remove the reg from the bottle at all or without damaging the bottle and/or reg. These air systems should eb professionally removed or not removed at all. If you insist in removing the bottle from the reg seak advice from someone like TomAllen.

But in short the main argument was why would you need to take the bottle off of the reg in any case??

Thanks John C an F3Z.

The reason i am looking to take the reg off is to put it on my stako bottle, as its a real pain to find a crossfire regulator (which would be ideal).

I have PMed Tom in the hope of sorting something out!
