It used to be the case in the UK that you would have rec days with a mix of rental punters and the walk-ons with their gear, but the advent of very high level markers and the "punterhunters"as noted by Liz have made this unpopular, and sites have to really make sure that their customers come back for more.

Personally I enjoyed the feeling of goggling someone and his shiny new semi with a rental pump, but the downside was you got used as "automag fodder" on more than one occaision, and this was before the 300 fps chrono limit too.

On the plus side, rec day rental stuff has improved greatly (with a couple of exceptions). The kit at Skirmish BullsWood rocks.

Mr. Jones

Thankyou for your kind comments about Bullswood!

We (that is Dan, the ops manager) go out of our way to keep rental equipment in a high state of repair, which is no mean feat considering the punishment the markers and goggles etc go through. Any problems are either fixed or replaced as soon as possible!

Nice name too, being a Jones myself!

Hey no worries - the effort goes in to the kit, is noticed and appreciated. After one disastrous trip to a site where obviously no-one really cared about the guns so long as paint came out of the end (including when you *weren't* firing it), it was a joy to use something that gave me the sum hassle of two stoppages the entire day - both caused by the bolt catching on my sleeve when it cycled, and both fixed in a fraction of a second.

Just need to bring an agitator next time as I keep outshooting the hopper!

Anyway, I could wax lyrical, but I've hijacked this thread too much already.

See y'all on the 2nd March

The place where I play mixes. They do rental groups for private parties(business outings, church groups, etc.) but you cant play with them unless you came with their group. Everyone else(rental or not) plays with the(walk ons). They might start having low level and advanced level games though cause in the summer there are around 40 walk ons every day.
