You can always rent there gear just to get into the flow of things and some practise against the regulars, think its 45 quid with all the gear and a 1000 paintballs which aint to bad considering thats all the equipment you will need. im new to the sport aswell mate and lovin it been missing out big time for years

how much does a typical walk on cost with your own gear? and what's like the price per case of paint after that?

Walkon approximately £25 / pp + £30 a case of paint.

Its a right laugh mate I went for my first walkon ever at trax a couple of weeks ago they make you feel really welcome and all the lads there were bob on and a couple of pints after in the pub down the road always goes down a treat
