I think what Noony's trying to say Moondog is the best way (and it is the best way) is to have your paint on a team paint basis meaning, that just buy boxes of paint when you need 'em and share them between the team with everyone diving in.

Then just split the full cost between the three of you at the end - everyone is happy and there are no problems about enough paint being shot
