i think my vlocity is stock and ive never had any problems with batteries. change them just before each time i use it for a days play. lasts well and the batteries can be used around the home afterwards..

I take offense in that. 6 months of development, half a skid of paint used for testing, 1 million settings' combinations, automatic anti-jam tweaked to minimize unjamming time, manual anti-jam, electronic rip drive, extended battery life up to 10 times... And you're saying it's the same thing?
why would youy take offense? i didnt mean any. I only said they were 'basically' the same.

I appriciate the hard work and long hours that go into making a chip and obviously i have no idea how much paint Gangstar used or exactly what goes in to chip development, but as much as you might not like it, the end results ARE basically the same.

sorry and all that but, thems are the facts. If you already have either the Hyperdrive, Gangstar or NOX chip, theres no point buy one of the others to replace it

p.s i have no idea why anyone would need a million settings anyway?

I would be disapointed if i bought a product that couldnt be setup to my particular spec, also, knowing the version would help as the V1 gangstar chip is much harder on batteries. The V2 is much better on batteries but the Hyperdrive is the most battery efcient i believe.

You're partially right. When you take a short glance at each of the currently available chips for the VLocity - they're basically the same. All make the loader feed paintballs.

But the chips were not created equal - the devil is in which performance goals the designers think are more important , and that influences the end result when you use the loader.

And since this thread is about battery life on the VLocity, let me share with you the following story...
During the PSP World Cup 2008 the demo loader at our booth kept running for the whole event (6 days) on one set of batteries without any loss of performance. We kept running it with new & old paint to show how quick it is, simulated jams, performed countless drop tests... I think I still have those batteries.

agreed, but a million setting combinations are just not needed.

so the loader was switched on constantly for 6 days, say 08:00-16:00 everyday? if so then fair play, that is great efficency.

That's 6 settings: Speed, Tension Time, Tension Force, Breakout Time, Anti-jam/rip drive length, Shutdown Time. Each with an adjustment range 1-10. Which one do you think is not needed?

I would say it was around 4-5 hours each day. That's great efficiency in my book. and in the books of all HyperDrive's customers I guess, since we constantly monitor all the different forums and have not received a complaint so far.

i didnt say any single setting wasnt needed, its the whole million combinations thing that isnt needed, its overcomplicated and just one of those things companies use to attract customers. Being a bit simple minded, i cant seem to get me head around why there would be any need for a million?

anyhow, i have to agree from what you've said the Hyperdrive trully is fantastic on batteries. As for the other chips, we havent got the manufacturers here to defend their products so who can say how they compare, but i doubt you can go wrong with any of them.

me, i have my gangstar chip and cant fault it, but if you have a standard vlocity and your looking for a chip, contact Fisz ;)
