Whilst everything that Flash has said is spot on, when adjusting the input pressure via an external reg, i prefer to wind the internal velocity adjuster (wether it be Rex or standard) into half way rather than all the way in as this does leave you with some slack if you set the velocity on a warm day and then play on a cold day. The cooler tank pressure could mean that you need more spring pressure to get the same velocity... Therefore, the ability to wind the spring in a bit can be useful. ;)

If you have a WGP reg seriously consider the AA Vigilante or buying an external adjuster (try www.g3pb.com in the states (who DO ship wonderfully to the UK!)):D

To clear things up on the Twister mod:
You have to do the rough adjustments using the internal adjuster for the Sledge Hammer, then use the Twister to fine tune the pressure. If you don't turn the Sledge down before you try to use the Twister, it won't do dick.

On Twister's turning the knob in lowers the pressure, turning it out raises it.

The easy way to set them is this:
Crono your gun for 250 or so
Turn the Twister adjuster all the way in
Set the internal adjuster on the Sledge until the gun barely cycles.

The reg is now set so when you turn your velocity up, you will need to increase the pressure from the LP reg. Just unscrew the Twister adjuster all the way, crono, then turn it in until the gun stops cycling. Then unscrew it until it's working nicely.

The Twister kit is for the Sledgehammer...

So WHAT are you talking about?

The Twister has a limited range of pressure adjustment, you have to set the Sledge Hammer to below what the gun will need, then use the range of the twister to bring the pressure up. Other regs can go from no pressure, to blowing hoses. The Twister/Sledge Hammer combo is limited to about 60psi total range.

That's what I'm talking about Try reading my whole post a second time.

You posted this Stan:
"If your reg is working you need to set up the 'gun by turning it all the way out, gas it up, pull the trigger and turn the knob in until the 'gun cocks. At this point, cycle the trigger (fire) until the gun fires and cocks with each pull! Then give it an extra 1/4 turn for good luck."
For a gun with a Twister, that is wrong.

I did read your post the whole way through but you confused me by talking about velocity adjustment in the same sentence as talking about the cocking system adjustment(Twister)!

You posted this Stan:
"If your reg... yadda, yadda, yadda... extra 1/4 turn for good luck."
For a gun with a Twister, that is wrong.
I'll hold my hands up to that one!:D

Thanks for putting more detail in your second post.;)
