I did a search incase this had been covered but I couldn't find anything (maybe cause UPS is below the search limits)

Anyhow in the UK at least UPS are no longer shipping Paintball markers as they have a policy of not sending....

Replica firearms...

Just a warning if people are planning on using UPS for anything paintball related. (Twas a warranty job for me, made it to the UK from the USA before they decided the policy and sent it back.)

Cheers

Complain to both UPS American and UK head offices they have a duty in inform you that the package is in the country but they cannot deliver it. They have no right to return it to the sender, because it is not an illegal item and they should give you the opportunity to collect it from customs yourself.

This happened yesterday.

basically there policy is not to deliver anything do do with fire arms or replicas.

You can packages through but its kinda a lottery as the policy states they will not send paintball equipment.

And I have complained, to both offices, only to get totally stone walled with the 'It's not our fault' responce.

What is actually the part that really gets to me is the fact they rang me on sat, stating it had recieved customs duty charge and I'd have to pay it. Fair enough, however now they haven't sent the item they still have taken the money outta my account. When I phoned up to complain I got the responce. 'We should sort this out by the end of the month.' Letme see, 2 days, one being a Sunday to grab the money, 28 to 29 days to give it back?

So I have sent an Email, will be sending a written letter, and will continue to phone reguarding my money.

So far they haven't replied to the email, and as for the phone calls, I more enlightening convorsation from the talking clock.

Sorry for spelling, can't be bothered to reread and check.

ive advised a number of people now that the best way i have found to get stuff from the us to the uk is via the usps. ie the bog standard us post office. the parcels are passed to royal mail when they arrive in the uk and always seem to get thru without any hassels or stupidly high charges.
ive also used ups and dhl before and EVERY time they have been stopped at customs and have had a £10 customs handleing charge slapped on them.
of around 20 or packages ive had via the usps one has been charged at customs, and the handleing charge was £4 plus the tax.
the package can be insured in the usual way as well.

example: bought an impy i frame last week, it arrived this morning with the normal post, no charge or anything, cost to pst was $9....which is around the same as it would cost to post in the uk.

After reading this thread i rang UPS to find out that a parcel from canada that i have been waiting for is in the central hub for UPS (UK) is now going to be sent back and they still want a handleing charge. With regards to them not being able to send it back as it is not theres to do so i was told that they are in control of the item untill you sign for it/recive it. Apparently some customers/shops in the U.S. who have accounts with UPS have been informed of this as far back as Nov 03

Planet Piper away from you freaks!
Guys,

This is a prime reason for supporting your dealers in this country. Sorry to say it but it is true.

Raxxman,
I hope you get it all sorted out, UPS are quick to take your money but slow at giving it back. I paid a bill of there's and 3 months later they phoned to say they had not charged the card and it was all my fault! Idiots.
