Upgrades for my Ion?

Hey all.

This is a list of the upgrades I plan to get for my ion in the very long term, this will be a working process, but they are basically in order:


Performance Related:
Trinity T-Lock Clamping Feed Neck
Smart Parts 360 QEV
CUSTOM PRODUCTS Ion Trigger (Blue)
Freak Barrel [Blue] / Impulse Thread / 14" / .689 Insert
Smart Parts Pro Touch Grips (Blue)
Blackheart Board
Lucky Stage 1,2,3 Combo (Black)

Cosmetic Related:
Trinity ION Sick Body Black/Blue
Trinity 07 Slim Grip (Blue)
Trinity Easy On/Off with Degas System 07 (Blue)

Just wondering what you guys' thoughts where?

And what additions/changes would you make?

well I've got the blackheart board, full freak and the firebolt plus a cp trigger on mine and it's all cool. Instructions for the blackheart board are easy to use, seeing as I could use them

Im not too sure on things like, firing cans, breaches, detents etc??

Need a bit of help understanding the more complecated innards of the Ion lol.

Edit - I added the Lucky Stage 1,2,3 Combo (Black) - and took away the Firebolt.


Any other extras I should consider. Again, what would new detents do, and which ones are reccomended?

And also, what grip frames are out there to look at?

The lucky frame is nice. Have alook out for them because i think a few have just gone on here.

Also the Syth frame is sexy

the three basic upgrades to looks at are feedneck, trigger and barrel. after that maybe bolt and board, Marcus geezer's should tell you all you need to know.

p.s. how would new grips give a performance advantage?

Read my tech stickie

Read my stickie and you will see what I have recomended as the essential ups for an ion... then it goes into seperate areas dependent upon your preferences regarding performance, accuracy, and bling.

Everyone has their own opinion. The difference is... mine is the correct one.

Detents... stock Ion ones will wear out eventually... as they are one of the few consumable products on the marker. When you go to replace them put in some killa or whatever detents. These should not wear at all.

Basically detents ensure your pball doesnt roll down your barrel when one is placed in the breach. When they wear you will experience double balls, balls rolling out of your barrel, one ball smashing another that may have lodged in your barrel, etc etc. Bottom line. When you NEED to replace your detents... pick aftermarket ones.

Grips. When your between the ages of 13 and 16 grips make your ion fire faster, use less gas, be more accurate, and importantly make 13 to 16 year old girls more attractive to you.
