They got some points...
"Airsoft is similar to paintball yet not, it's cheaper more realistic and more fun (ye right, i hit you, no you didn't, yes i did, no you di.......)"
- erm, read the ton of previous threads re wiping, cheating, playing on, etc...
"Paintball guns shoot plastic balls that are filled with paint, which break and mark the opponent's body upon impact, airsoft on the other hand is based on honesty, when one feels a hit the person acknowledges the hit and walks off the current game and awaits the next. (Honesty.....LOL)"
- as above...
"This is in great contrast to paintball aka painball where it is not uncommon for players to be knocked senseless or go home with melon-sized bruises on their limbs! (I have run sites for 9 years & never heard anyone say paintball hurts to much to play)"
- check out the numerous threads here and on other pb sites with people posting pics of their big bruises; some of which are indeed melon sized - not necessarily on their limbs I have to admit ;-)
There are well over thousands of airsoft enthusiasts all over the world, in the UK, US and in Japan the numbers possibly go up into the several hundred thousands. (Huge then)
- compare to # of ballers? not much in it I would think
"Thousands of paintballs have converted to Airsoft as they have become disillusioned with the money-hungry paintball industry. bbs are a lot cheaper than paintballs.100 paintballs might cost £10, but for that same amount you could get 3000 bbs at Wolf Armouries! Like with most hobbies the initial starting costs can be reasonable high; around £300 for a Hi-grade electric airsoft rifle with all the accessories, but once you've got the kit it's much cheaper than paintball to play. (They say the price for paintball is £10 per hundred balls & airsoft is £10 for 3000 balls. I say liars...average price if you own equipment is £10 for 500 & considering airsoft guns are typically full Auto or machine gun replicas etc they use much more bullets than paintball. LOL according to them thousands of "paintballs" have converted to Airsoft )"
- the price you mention is for regular players with industry contacts. This is out of context to the original post, which is probably aiming at rec-ballers and hence is probably very correct
"Not only are they coming outta the closet,i,ve got em coming out of the woods as well!!got our local supersoft guys out the woods and onto a playing field with a sup air field on it,not as good as p.ball but funny as fcuk watching 14 guys with full auto uzis and suchlike doing 880 rnds a min then complaining an hour on supair had cost em more than a w/ends ammo!!!!lmao, then we gave em a p.ball demo but they didn,t like it cos it "bloody hurts"?? "
- and that is a valid argument making one "sport" better than the other??????? ok it is more expensive and it hurts more...therefore it is better. makes you a real man...
Devil's Advocate signing off - just trying to be objective here - I do agree a lot of stuff on that site is pure FUD but you really need to take a step back and look at it all from a newbie perspective, which is where all marketing is ultimately aimed at, y'know
