There is a
inter-Uni website, but it seems like everyone has kind of lost interest.

I know, and i was really up for doing something with you guys, as you organized the first 2 events that I missed and was really looking forward to a bit of inter-Uni paintball.
The UKPA, quite reasonably, asked if we minded calling ourselves something more distinguishable from them, if we planned to be a separate body. (We were called the ukupa). I wasn't at the
"meeting" at campaign, but I got the impression that everyone got miffed after that kind of gave up.
I don't quite get why, or whether the 2 were linked, but everything kind of went belly up.
I have been thinking about this a lot. I decided not to bother discussing anything with the other Uni’s. I just thought I would get on with it quietly until i had an option to present them, otherwise everything might just drown in speculation and committee thinking.
There are two options I was considering.
1. - I have been looking in to getting a sup' air field set up on a disused playing pitch at my Uni. This would be great for an inter Uni event due to low cost etc, but I’m sure you can imagine the bureaucracy that it would involve.
2. - The second was going to be to speak to Hatts and Gillie again.
Hatts - RE option 2. Can i give you a call about this some time.
In answer to your other questions.
I have looked in to a BUSA annual event, (Their constitution and rules are v. boring and long.) It is a possibility but we don't currently have enough Uni's (about a dozen depending on how you count them,) with squads to qualify for BUSA recognition.
However any team made up of people from the same Uni would count as representative of said Uni, regardless of whether there was an established club/soc/team there. Meaning if we could get 5 random Joes from 24 of the 350-or-so institutions we could qualify.
This would mean we would have to supply kit etc and might have to consider two divisions, to avoid the established teams dicking on the newbie scratch teams. But it would be a great opportunity to give a presentation on setting up and running a club/society at there Uni and could potentially lead to the formation of several new clubs.
Also BUSA exert a lot of influence on the sports council, and if they recognise paintball as sport at a Uni level, they are required to push for it's recognition at a national level by the sports council.
