Hi guys just my bit but
Yes rec ball dose act as a home from home for burnt out torney players, but they want good sites and are used to real good prices so don't want to pay £120.00 a box for site grade paint. The sooner we as an industry reconize this the happier and bigger our rec secene will be. For a site operator it's not were the money is immediatly. It involves long term investment, lots of customer care, good feilds that are kept intresting. Not every one is prepared for this or wants to do it, there is a train of thought out there, get their money and a fresh coach load of mugs for next week.
They do exist and bad sites give the whole sport a bad name. For every week end they will put off another 30 -100 potential players.
For the sport to move on and achive the recogition we all want every one form the site operators down needs to remember we are the ambasadors for the sport. As operators it is our own best intrests to promote the sport and support it's growth.
I have been bouncing around an idear if it is possible to mabey put an iformation piece together to be shown at schools and colleges. Vidio footage and a talk discusion session afterwards, sport is now an exam all in it's own right. Many colledges teach sporting courses I am in the process of working with the local colledge to offer work placements and offer an insight in to a diffrent sporting enviroment.
Back to the main subject of UK teams, a big thank you to Mr Big he shamed me into getting our young guns off the ground. Even PLanet bless their cotton socks sent a player my way. The team from 13 upwards are comming from far and wide. Poor loves there is appartently nothing happening locally. I am personally sponcering them and once they have earnt their strips so to speack I hope we will be offerd more help. They are all really keen and even in just two accademy sessions my kids that sat at the back with their flashy guns are now full on little players developing tactics style and going for it they are young keen and hungry for it. I will help them and they know it. We are aiming to build the pro team of the future I know it and so do they we can but try. If they keep at it stick togerther who knows. We will be playing on site this year and out and about as of next year.
Good luck to every one out there trying. Paticlarly thunder who are really dedicated. Good luck with the whole millinium serise I will be there cheering you on for a few of them
