Looking at the results at CC, it appears that UK Paintball is falling well behind the rest of our European counterparts, in every Division.

Does the CC truly reflect the standing of UK teams, or was this just a blip?

Your thoughts??

lookin at my roster of players jurgs- were you playing? i don't see your name there!

In my opinion, brit ball hasn't declined- i just feel that generally the teams that make the effort to travel to the CC feel they are of a standard to not be wasting the trip- ie they ain't too shabby. Certainly in our division we'd of been into the finals if we'd shot one more Thai ninja out (that'd of made 2 brit teams or one brit and one jersey team on the podium)

As a standard i think brit ball is still lagging a long way behind the septics, but as for europe there are only one or two countries that can boast a large base of teams that are extremely compettitive above the uk (france is one dammit)

But in the ever optimistic british way i feel with so many top powerfull teams (tigers, nexus, shockwave etc) it won't be long before we show johnny foreigner whats what at CC again and again

Dream on A B!

Seriously mate, I think we are miles behind in not only how we play, but also, importantly, how we think about and prepare for our sport.

The others put in much more time, and much more quality into their training and practice. I can think of several teams who play plenty of 'ball, but do little training.

Then they wonder why they don't improve!

I see no evidence that this tide will turn, with a few exceptions, anytime soon.

C'mon A B, as a team that featured as one of the Top 3 or 4 Sandbaggers at the event, you really think bashing up teams in Div3 is the way to success.

The playing down is on eof the reasons why UK Ball sucks. 90% of players are too Pu$$y to play better higher ability teams.

Also anyone mentions "but, but, but they've all got bigger player pools than us gets banned from now on.

All this crap about Training being done is nonsense. The first thing players as individuals should be working on is their fitness. A lot of the UK players milling round Campaign could'nt run from teh Start Gate to the Fifty without having to stop for a fag, pint and a pie & chips. Look at the difference between the physique of the UK Ballers and the Skandi's, that should be telling y'all something.

Firstly I disagree with Buddha. The Germans come in behind the UK. I rank the Scandinavians as the most competitive (that is throughout all their playing base) with us and France behind. Germany some way behind those.

I agree with Strongle (despite his festive dress sense) - fitness needs to be improved. Its the one way that you can improve your game without expense.

Secondly I have advocated for the last ten years that you have to play above yourself to improve. Teams hide in their 'correct' division so that they can win a tin cup. I say play as high as you can all the time. That way when you play in your correct division at majors you should be playing a game that is competitive there.

Division II teams should be trying to play in, say Div 1 at Dartford etc for example. Maybe they'll lose most games but they will LEARN!!

Also pay due regard to proper training. Blah blah blah, yes we've heard it all before - DRILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And when you've done that DRILL some more.

I'm tired of repeating it. I talk to teams about technique, about left hand shooting, about ditching drop forwards etc and see the same guys making the same mistakes year on year and NEVER fulfilling their potential!!

Lastly - if you are good then join a good team. Don't just stay with your mates. Go make a difference.
