Trigger bounce
Hi all, I'm just posting to ask for a clarification on the rules regarding trigger bounce. Are there any official guidelines on the testing procedure before/after games? For example, number of shots to test it, how many different marshalls can test, what happens if it passes pre-game, and can be made to bounce after? What is the exact procedure for testing? What is acceptable? Is a single bounce ok if the marshall can't repeat it?
I'm asking all this because at the last round, the testing procedure was much more strict, which on the whole was good. However there were inconsistancies between fields as to what was acceptable and what wasn't. One field allowed a gun that bounced less than one in three times stating the average was under two shots per trigger pull, others accepted no bounce at all. One field allowed a spare gun to be used if the first bounced while another forced players to play a gun down.
On a more personal side to this is the problem I've had with my own gun, an Angel Speed which are notorious for bounce problems. After multiple trips to several Angel techs and WDP themselves, it will still get the occasional freak bounce about one in 20 shots. I would be willing to take my chances with this if the marshalls tested the gun from a firing position (i.e. upright) but they don't. The majority of trigger bounce testing at the last event was done by marshalls holding the gun tilted up to 45 degrees to one side looking for a sweet spot on the trigger, knowing full well that this made it much easier to bounce. When tilted and fired this way, something that simply doesn't happen in a game, my gun will bounce as many as 1 in 5 trigger pulls which is way too close for comfort if it gets checked.
I'm going to attempt to stiffen the spring this week to reduce it even further. But if that doesn't work, I'm at the mercy of marshalls who are trying to make it bounce, even though the possible advantage I might get is negligible and innocent. In a worst case scenario, I'd at least appreciate confirmation that I could use a backup spyder
Thanks for reading all this, I appreciate any feedback.
