Hi all,
which shops do you all buy your PB gear from in the UK or Europe? Ive found shops in the UK charging prices like £250 for a basic marker like a Shutter, and I cant find any shop which sells everything - the US has dozens and dozens of shops loads of which have the full range of equipment instead of one or two bits and bobs.

Do you get the feeling theres a shortage of European/UK based shops with decent prices?

Trouble is, at $50 a pop to ship just about anything from the US theres no way to win

you are visiting the wrong websites

Hi at Havoc Paintball Guns EU we are able to sell our markers at more or less the USA $ price we certainly dont charge £250 for a Spyder Shutter more like £157.50 inc postage, it really infuriates me that some of the other websites are selling these guns well above the UK RRP my advice is to shop around before you buy, like i said we are the cheapest supplyers of Spyders in the UK and Europe check us out www.havocpaintball.com

Havoc, I dont want to sound cheeky or anything, but even £157 is a huge price compared to US prices - $115 is a typical price for a Shutter, which is what, £75? Less than half of what youre quoting. Is this because of some shortcoming in the distribution system? Is the demand in the UK really that low?

I wish the UK had some one-stop-shops like the US's paintballgear.com / paintballgi.com and other paintball super stores. I can only assume that the smaller interest in the UK explains why this isnt the case though?

Btw, its powerball.co.uk, not .com :)

Its just frustrating that in the UK you have to search long and hard and have luck on your side to find a part even in this continent let alone country, and if you do, youll pay atleast 150% of the US price. :( .

Postage Time VAT and Import Duty

hi yes i see where you are coming from the problem with this country is that we TAX everything so your £75 plus postage say £30 Plus VAT plus Import Duty works out to about £133.50 then we have to add a bit on for our time and we dont do it for nothing so i think that £150 is very cheap and when you take into account that you only have to wait 2 days to recieve your marker instead of 2 weeks i think its well worth £157.50

Cant you buy the markers at trade/manufacturer price though? I know the UK isnt too big on paintball, but surely you dont pay retail price for stock?

I would have thought you could buy markers like Shutters in bulk for around £40 each.

at trade

the us a traders are selling markers at trade or just above check out the kingman website for the RRP on the markers and then cross match it with the european RRP and you will see what is going on
the competition over in the states is so bad that they have to sell just above the trade price. we buy direct from kingman usa so i know that the prices i get are the same as the prices that everyone else gets, the minimum order from them is $8000 if you spend double that then the markers are a bit cheaper but the demand over here isnt enough to warrent spending $16000 to get the prices down as we would still sell them at the same price as noone in the uk can match us i buy 50 markers at a time and i have normally got 10 or so left at the end of the month which i normally discount to get rid of them but they are the compacts sports or sonix never the shutters or any thing like that

Hmm I see. So its more or less just a matter of not being able to buy in bulk since there isnt as much demand here?

Bloody shame.

How is your European appeal? Have you thought about French/German translations? I dont know how big paintball is over there, but shipping aint "too" much because I sell the odd PC to continental Europe (places like Turkey where they have little competition between computer corps).
