UWE are hiring an inflatable arena for freshers if you want some help or advice in setting up a society PM me... 23 unis in the league we get BUSA recognition and become recognised as a sport --- once this happens maybe it will help the plight overall in the UK

Luckily we have snetty down the road. Woody and the guys said they're up for helping out with the soc, like student nights with training and drills etc. Will try and get a UPL team sorted if enough people are interested.

drop me a message mate, I set a UEA club up in 2004, ran it till 2006 then passed it to others to run after I graduated. The president who took on after me didnt bother turning up from what I heard and then the club fell apart with no one left to run it last year.

We had deals set up with Skirmish plumstead and necton as I worked at both and the owner was my landlord.

Shameful thing was necton was not running till after I left so never got the chance to head up there.

I think I have a load of goggles kicking around which the club bought so can always throw them your way.

Drop me a message and will help with other details of how I got stuff sorted and managed to get a good number of people going, think we had 200 members and outings of 30-40 for rec ball.

Also it is possible to get yourselves done as a sport without busa as UEA american football do not compete in BUSA.

YAY!!!!!:D

Actual real paintballers coming to UEA! I thought I was gonna be the only one. Unfortunatley the UEA doesn't want to recognise it as a sport until they get BUSA support. The thing with american football it is recognised in the UK as a sport whereas paintball is seen as a hobby as no one knows about speedball! This first year is testing the water really a its a completley new commitee as last year did nothing even though they still competed in the UPL. The society's mission statement would be to promote paintball as a sport and to change people's misconceptions. If we can do this hopefully we would be able to set up a sponsored team with custom team gear?

My personal plans for the commitee this year, would be to have a pure UPL team unless we get someone experienced to captain a full time team. I'm new to the sport as well, so i'm no way qualified to run a team! Trying to get the uni to buy paint but at the same time, provide cheaper transport and cover some entry fees for rec-ball to keep the others who want to keep paintball as a casual hobby, or anyone wanting to burn money at woodsball! :p Apparently in 2007 thats what most people were annoyed at. The commitee just spent all the members money on tourny gear! This wont be happening again!

As for the goggles, YES PLEASE, it would be a great help. I'll pm you in a bit.

Thanks guys!

Shadow and Dazz PM i'mnovet for info on Snetterton sup air site and you may be able to hook up with them (Loki) for training also, a great bunch of lads who put a lot of effort into their paintball. Also Shadow if you want to set something up for woodland training drop me a PM as I know and get on well with the site owner of Skirmish in Necton and Norwich.
