I think I would ignore the facts of each individual case, decide an opinion purely on 'wot everyone else sez' come up with a piss-ant conclusion and then broadcast it on the internet as if I was somehow being clever..

What would you do ?.

..oh I see.

French carmaker Renault has denied there is a fault with its hood latch on the Renault Clio, despite multiple incidents where the bonnet opened while the Clio was being driven. Renault will not recall the Clio.

However, it is offering to check the models and remedy the apparently non-existant problem for free. A taskforce was set up by representatives from the company across the world to determine whether or not there really was a latch problem.

Renault blamed poor maintenance for the incidents where the hood flew open in transit.

but when you come to think of other things like this.

for example - Aeroplanes.

Alot of incidents have happened involving passenger planes etc. (engine failures etc) and have killed hundreds, if not thousands of people.

People still use these planes to get from point A to point B.

Similiar sort of event like the one you have posted.

But why do we take one small thing, rare thing and ban/not use it, when major incidents that happen with planes, we still use them. - excuse the fact they are pretty much one of the only ways to travel the world -

if you get what i mean.
weird :p

I know it's based on individual cases, and that the whole product shouldn't technically be blamed, but I would rather have something of equal quality where there was no record of explosions...

Pretty sure Peugeot had a similar problem where similar multiple incidents were taking place with the early model 206, same stuff about no recall but offering a free check.

Bloody french cars!

If I had a car that blew up, I'd rush to my PC, log onto a car forum and let everyone speculate how it had happened, and let them come to their conclusions. Then I'd watch as most of them talk complete bullsh!t.
