The problem with using part of the body for the back block, aside from the milling machine cutting that part of the body to chips when the rear of the receiver is cut away, is that there would be nowhere to screw the pump arm rod into that back block.

You are right about not needing that slot, though. You'd be better off without it, in fact.

gonna use derlin for the block mabye
its alo lighter and easier to cut and tap but i could use the body for a back up ive drilled and tapped before so no probs there as 4 the pump arm il cut and over tap the nexus 1
if i get the mq skeet it will make it a lot easier and hopfully faster into the bargain
