Travelling with marker in view

Is it legal to carry your marker in public (eg. on the dye backpack) assuming there is no hopper, and condom is on?
When i say "in public" i mean travelling to and from events via places like train stations etc.
Obviously questions might be asked but could action be taken against us in some way?

Had a strange thing happen once, i was meeting someone at a services to buy an automag. And we were looking at the mag in the car for a while when all of a sudden a police van pulled alongside and 3 policemen got out and quickly came over to us with a concerned look on their faces. Immediately i thought has my tax run out.
As it was the middle of summer, all the windows were open and the first policeman reached in and took the keys out of the ignition, and said "where's the gun, hand it over", i thought cheeky bu##er, then realised that he wasn't joking. The guy selling me the mag was white as a sheet, absolutely cra##ing himself, because the guy the other side of the car, his side, had a gun pointing at him.
Needless to say all was smoothed over when he saw it was a paintball marker, but don't assume the general public are that bright, as it was some daft old tw#t in the car park, that reported us.
The policeman said "try and keep this sort of thing out of sight, as it looks lethal"

Enough said..!!

technically no, as it is classed as an airgun and so is subject to the same laws as an airsoft gun. This means it should be carried in a secure bag or box etc etc. Legally you can be done for up to 5 to 10 years for carrying your marker in public. All it takes is one finickity policeman....

my mate was waiving his oracle e cocker in his front room window while he was setting it up,and 30 mins later had his flat swamped with armed police with mp5's pointing at him from all directions!hehehehe!luckily 1 of the coppers was a ball player so he knew what it was,and told him to stop scaring the neighbours!as these things can be quite loud when dry fired!:D

It's illegal to carry it out in public.
Same for a marker :)

Biggest problem with dry-firing etc... is that the neighbours probably aren't scared and know fine well it's a marker.......... they just get p!$$ed off at the noise and tell the police you have a gun.
