Aargh! I'm sick of phoning/surfing for travel insurance that INCLUDES medical cover for injuries sustained whilst paintballing and cover for paintball equipment in transit by air. Most travel policies have this tiny bit in the small print under exclusions which adds 'any hazardous activity'.

Do any of you know of a (UK) Insurance company that provides this? I tried Perkins Slade last week and they were very unhelpful...

I'm sure SOMEONE has found such an insurance? I want a 10-day worldwide policy (Malaysia) but might go for an annual policy. A website or phone no would be great too :)

My home insurance doesn't cover my gear worldwide

Hi gups.
Best deal I found was Tesco's used their annual worldwide policy for years now!
Policy details HERE
They seem to cover any activity. All they state is "Activities must be conducted safely and supervised by a qualified person or arranged through a recognised provider of the service"
Gotta be worth a call.

For £85 for the year, covering trips up to 30 days in length, try these guys:

02073750011 Columbus Travel

They included paintball as a hazardous activity

Had the same problem when I went travelling for a year.

But I found STA travel has best cover, they also specifically include paintball :

Annual multi trip policy is £85 single £120 couple.

Also a friend used to work at one of those medical emergency places that get you back when you've had an accident, she reccomended STA as being most hassle free if you claim. I claimed twice on my annual policy and had no problems.

I shall look at both of those too... ta guys.

Beaker: the STA one looks pretty good... it even INCLUDES paintball as the main reason for your trip whereas most travel insurances only cover paintball if it is incidental to your trip. Makes quite a big difference, especially in the event of a claim!

I'll let you know how i get on!

Taking a look at the policy tho for STA, one of the things they dont cover is professional sports. Depending on how you look into that, and you would probably have to check with them yourselves, but surely this would mean not covered to play tournaments!?!:(

'Adventure sports which cannot be covered: Air travel (other than as a fare paying passenger), Base jumping, Boxing, Cliff diving, Competitions, Cresta Run, Crewing on vessels from one country to another, Endurance tests, Free climbing, Gorge Swinging, Horse Jumping, Hunting, Ice caving, Ice Hockey, Martial Arts competition, Motor sports/rallying, Mountaineering (without ropes), Mountaineering Expedition, Piloting a Private Aircraft, Polo, Powerboating, Professional sports, Scuba Diving (below 30 metres), Self defence, Ski acrobatics, Ski jumping, Ski stunting, Solo sea sailing, Speed skating, Stunt flying & acrobatics, Use of weapons, Wreck Diving, Yachting out of territorial waters, Yacht racing, Zorbing.'

Ha....but paintball (as of yet) is still not recognised as a sport, much less a professional sport! So would not fall under that exclusion.
