Every Platinum member has the chance to have a feedback thread. Plus as they've paid for the service they are that much more likely to be serious people.

There was a debate about that on here recently. It was suggested that if someone really wanted to 'scam' that they could sign up to be a platinum member and scam away (using a false address to register for platinum in the first place).

I am not sure what checks you guys have in place for platinum members - maybe you could enlighten me sir?

Nothing's fool proof, but as you pay by Paypal the usual credit card checks are done by them. Also as (most) sign up with a subscription as it's great value, the address is normally correct.

Also checking feedback from generally trusted guys, like Budgie, Dksize, Lump etc.

Feedback's not perfect, but it's better to have it than not.
