Wow, there hasn't been this much hassle on these forums for ages.

Now before anybody goes deleting this posting for being in the wrong forum, lets think about it.

This forum is stated as being "tournament " therefore, logically it deals with tournaments .

If an organiser of a tournament decides to announce his event here, and after many postings it is "threadjacked" is it to be deleted ?

If a player from a tournament wants to thank the organisers for the event etc, should they post it in announcements, do a new thread in "tournaments" or, the other option, add a new posting to the original thread ( which may be 2 weeks out of date, and contain many other postings which would be irrelevant at the time ).

Tournament players read tournament, rec ballers read rec ball, people with stuff they want to buy or sell read classifieds.

If people don't know where to post, give them more options such as www.completepaintball.com/bbs

If you guys are not sure what people want, why not post a poll to find out what they want. If you don't, you may lose a lot of members to other boards.

I am sure it is within your power.

This is not a dig, but you may be surprised by the results.

Any readers of this forum got any comments before it gets deleted or moved ( I Give it 24 hours )?

I may be wrong, if so tell me.

P'D Off

P S You say that you are getting more members each month, but how many members do you lose ? Just a thought, as my local cable company used to advertise that a certain amount of people a day joined them. They forgot to mention that more than that amount a day were leaving them. They are now in financial difficulty.

P P S How come that this new hard line has not been enforced in other forums ? Plenty of thread jacking and irrelevant posts elsewhere !

In fact looking at all the threads that have been moved I'm inclined to think someone is having a laugh... or has been drinking too much!

Why not move all posts from all forums, since in some way or another they are 'announcing' something or asking a 'question'.

Why bother with any forums other than the announcements and queries one? :(

Paintball should be the important thing here, not the semantics of which forum a thread should fit into.

If the poster thinks it fits a forum and there is some semblance of reason to their decision, what good does it really do to move it to somewhere else?

Glad to provide you with something to complain about, Manike. Did you not read any of the explanatory threads or are you just thick?:D
Now see, that's a much better "shot" than that pitiful attempt you offered in the Kick Baca thread. How disappointing.

Baco,

I don't come to this forum looking for something to complain about.

I come looking for information on tournies ;) :D

The post in the kick Baca thread was a logical arguement about why what you are doing is wrong and why it is confusing people and pissing them off.

Admittedly

it could have been handled better but it is what it is. Now when you want info on local events you know where to look and when you want to discuss the wide world of tourney paintball you know where to look. What could be better than that?

PS--perhaps your blitz of posts regarding the issue is what confused me into thinking perhaps you were a wee bit p'o'ed.:)

In my last 6 years or so of posting on the net I have very, very rarely got p'd off :) I don't let this stuff get to me, I've learnt better than that. I just use it for entertainment and to challenge my mind with. Anyone I have had a major fall out with I have subsequently settled it. I can only think of four people in 6 years that it has happened with.

And the only time recently was in the thread with Robbo and even then it was just debate and discussion. I can't think of anytime I've really got p'd off on the net due to an event or discussion. In my opinion It's not worth it. The only thing Robbo said which p'd me off was that 'I don't do anything for the good of this sport' (and then he banned me before I could reply to the contrary ;) :) ) A lot of other people got more angry about that than I did!

I posted a lot on this because I've had lots of people comment to me about it (in real life) and because I felt strongly on the subject.

I do enjoy debate and discussion so where there is a topic I can get myself stuck into I do tend to get carried away.

I mean no offense by it but do feel it necessary for people to voice their opinions rather than sit by and be unhappy.

I can also play a mean devils advocate :D

How many is many?

Gonna bust out the dictionary for that one, too?
Having just read--oh God, my eyes, my eyes--the hitlerites thread and all the others related to the teeming masses of the unhappy and the anecdotely unhappy it really looks a lot more like a tempest in a teapot to me than I actually expected. I can count, so far, the actively involved, and unhappy on two hands and they all have one thing in common, they be Brits.
Did it ever occur to you that perhaps when non-Brit visitors check out the site and all they see is stuff about this that and the other thing this weekend in Lemming-on-Cliff that it puts them off from returning?
It seems you are less interested in a "debate" than hammering on the same points over and over. At that point it is less debate and more arguement simply for arguement's sake. And if that's what you want perhaps the local chapter of the Flat Earth Society is doing a membership drive.:) :D
