Is it just me or is anyone else out there thinking that the food available at a tourney site is just grease ridden sh*te??

We need an available source of carbs ..not lard....I am not a 55 stone fat B*strd stuck in my bedroom needing a crane to get me out.

Is it so difficult to have a pre prepped salad or pasta dish for folks to choose from??......I think not.....that is what Tupperware is for for smegs sake!.........healthy food for us sportspeeps ain't to difficult to do.........why eat lard and fat when you can eat a good pasta salad with plenty of added ham or tuna to keep you going!

I am not dissin' the present formula for a site(bad burgers, beans,a potato, maybe a bit of potato salad) but I think an option would be usefull........(Iv'e played rec ball at a site near York that had a butty with a postage size stamp piece of ham in the so called *includes dinner* package)

But what can the industry as a whole do to improve this??

A good supplier of food may be usefull methinks.....not just a profit driven money hungering selfish git that buys his burgers at 50p per 100 and sells them on at a £1 per Burger..........

Wouldn't your day as a rec-player be improved if your food was better??........votes please!

Or if you are a tourney player......a burger van producing summat you would never eat at home......nasty and greasy.......couldn't the industry produce better??

Think on it.........you decide,,

energy food

a neat little trick if you can get hold of some and you have loadsa sources to burn is to eat a few tubes of "hypo stop" if you can stomach the taste cos' believe me it tastes rank...my friends used it when they ran the London marathon and said it was good stuff-conventionally it is used for diabetics going hypoglycemic who are still conscious with a Bm of around 4.
Otherwise all i can suggest is mention it to your local site,i can say that at one "site" i play at the owner Sparkly for the last tourney made some rice and curry and chilli but this takes time and dedication.Fatty food is convenient, quick and easy and in all fairness i think you will find it pleases most of the punters especially your one off office parties...

protein is where you get your strentgh and energy from m8 and a combination of carbs...

I know that food isn't always on the top of the list when organising event or running a site - but really. Food is something that we all need and have at one time or another in any day out!! I think it's in the interest of the organisers and sight owners to make a bit more of an effort into the food selection, or if not that, then the food quality at least. Sure the greasy, lardy, rank burgers are ok - but most of us here play a fair bit and get really sick of it! Alot of paintball places are out in the countryside too, where there's no convienience stores or places to pick of a half descent snack - and believe me, if a a paintball site had a good reputation for their food then I reckon it would definitely play a part in improving the popularity of the site. (Obviously only a small factor, but still applies all the same).

I was at a sight in the states once and they did a barbeque every lunch time when they had their walk on days and it was fantastic!! Really hot food, cooked to your liking - you could bring your own burgers, hot dogs vegie burgers, baked potatoes, salmon even (if you brought it!) - whatever you wanted! And it was fabulous!

I believe that an improvement in food would definitely be appreciated allthough it's not a necessity - just look at pro. football and soccer matches, not exactly top of the line nosh anyway, is it??

There is a solution to the problem. Bring your own food. Bring all the water, gatorade, sandwiches, etc... down with you. I don't think the organizers are going to worry to much about the food. They have enough worries trying to put on a decent tourney If you want good food, go to a restaurant. Otherwise, just play the game.:D

lard lard lard

you can either bring your own or just stick to what you get.

most sites will do the standard punter burger and beans type thing. the main reason for this is simply down to efficent stock and cost.

if you have X number of punters on site your going to need X number of burgers. with maybe a few more for the fat gits. if you had a wide selection of different types of food on offer then you would end up binning most of it at the end of the day. not many sites would be too willing to do that.

On the way to Campaign Cup 2000 and one of my team mates decides we should all eat **** loads of Bananas for energy and stuff without feeling stuffed, so we stopped off and bought about 2 carrier bags full!!

We ate **** loads of bananas and still played like a bunch of bumholes.....

....so, erm...don't bother with the banana thing.....I guess....

This is one I can relate to.

I have spent the last two years trying to get my customers tourney rec and walk on's to eat some thing other than burgers:mad:

I passed the point were I could eat another burger about a year ago. I hasent to add these are really nice burgers not cheep crap and it's a whole trip esspecially just to go get them ( the local cash and carry is full of crap burgers)

Bacon butties are to me paintball I miss them the few week ends a year I am not on site.

I for one have no problem with people bringing their own food as long as they clear up after them.

I have always tried to be as flexable as possible we have a lovley mixed salad on site every event and at leat half a dozen relishes and sauses.

I always have nice quorn southern burgers as they are the Best:D

I have prepared celiac (wheat free) meals, and even cooked pakora ( really fancy onion bargie with extra stuff) from scratch on site. Yum I must make sure they are cooked;) 10 later um madey they are ok:)

The last tourney (the one you the forum members wanted) I asked your opinion on the menue and lovingly stayed up till 1am baking cookies and stiring chillie and chick tika masla.

I was pleasantly supprised by the number of you who chose to have salad, and even more suprised how many of you had fresh corriander sprinkled on top (even though a few were un sure as to what the strage green stuff was;) )

Like I say this was a labour of love and I could have done with borrowing Robbos muscles for it!

Pasta is quick easy and requires no herclian strength for stiring if thats what you prefer I am more than happy to cook pasta :D

It is difficult to offer a choice, only 1 person asked for the chicken once every one had seen and smelt it the cry of any more went out. Time effort and cost are all considerations so too wastage.

If you know you want some thing nice healthy or diffrent ask I will always try to work mirricles and if your local site won't them diy and bring your own.

peace love and cookies

Mother, is that you?
cjohns got it right. There should be an area where 'byo sandwich people' sit - can you imagine Robbo sat there with a little packed lunch! napkins and stuff.... perhaps a little Bob the Builder lunch box with matching flask of orange juice (not too strong, mind).

That'd be worth the entry fee alone.
