Tournament saturation

With the UKPL finals being cancelled and i have also heard that the M25 league will not run next year or at least not by the same people as this year, and the setting up of the PA League and the PGI Premier League along with the existing tourneys the series2k4, midlandmasters, KOTH and SWPL, does anyone else think the paintball tournament scene in the UK is being saturated.

I mean there are so many leagues happening next year that other leagues are not gonna run and some events can't get teams as the teams have no money or time to play.

I just think that for the size of this country there are to many leagues. The PGI Premier League, PA League, Series2k4, MidlandMasters and KOTH are all gonna be played in roughly the same area of the country and then that leaves just the SWPL in the south. The teams are now splitting between leagues so you end up with good teams in one league and good teams in another but these teams won't play each other anymore unless they meet on the european circuit, how are the UK teams suposed to advance if the best teams in the UK are not playing each other and pushing each other forward.

I think that these Leagues should get together and make one truly national league and knock all these other leagues on the head, the league would play an event twice a month, multiple divisions, hundreds of teams.

Everyone talks about bringing the sport forward and to the media, well i'm sorry but you don't exactly see county divisions in football being televised and thats what all these leagues are like. Its like a big squabble to see who can come out on top, when the best idea would be to pool resources and produce a league together that would see paintball come out on top.

My personal opinions not my teams thankyou to anyone who could be bothered to read this :)

Alot of the different tournies are to support the different formats for example:
KOTH is a novice only tournament run on the same day as the Midland masters which are both 5 man.
PGI Premier League and PA League will be run on the same day and are both 7 man.

But to elaborate on Jaspers original post, if that is the case Paul and the two seven man tournaments are played on the same day, why not combine the two and just have one HUGE tournament. Kinda like a Millennium event every month. That would put the best teams in the country against each other every month. Its whats going on over the pond and doesn't seem to have done them any harm.

Apart from KOTH there is no other proper five man league :(
That is a big shame because many teams prefer 5 man and if you believe X-Ball is the future of the sport you have no way to practice 5 man in compettition.

I love 5 man but next year my team will have almost no 5 man tourneys to go to. We couldnt really enter KOTH now could we

Jasper you are right mate, 7 man is completely saturated.

The usual fanatic supporters of both sides will say "the best teams are playing their league cos its better."

But to the vast majority who are stuck in the middle it is obvious the best local teams arent gonna be competing against each other anymore. :(

Also each tourney as Paul mentioned is giving a different spin on the tourney scene.

I mean the PA is regional not just team xyz buy London Xyz so it becomes regional to advertisers etc

Everyone wants something different so there are different formats to reflect that.

You are obviously not reading the info correctly the KOTH 5 man event has been absorbed into the midlands masters 5 man. So you still have the non novice level 5 man series to enter as you had this year

Different spin, but at the end of the day its the same teams as played MM or S2k this year, just with a slightly changed name, the squads are the same :) fair play there is a couple of newly formed teams for the event.

I agree that they all offer something different. But also agree with Jasper that until there is a set way we play, which if you weight it up and we wanted to compete with people over the pond has to be 7 man.

Its all about the Benjamins at the end of the day though ain't it :) or is that me being synical :p

To be honest I havent read the info at all.

If its unlimimted paint, all supair and theres some decent teams to whup then we're in.
One of the SPC clan will correct me if i'm mistaken
The MM/KOTH format will be 4 Divisions of 8 teams
With top 3 divisions playing Unlimited paint 5 man
and division 4 playing 5man limited KOTH format
So obviously you will be in one of the top 3 divisions

Well if Storm Am can travel up to play in the Midlands Masters
I'm sure Team Zone could stretch to it too.
I had heard rumours of someone trying to do a M25 replacement league
