torque

when i first use it in the back garden with a full load of paint the hopper was on, as soon as i fired my gun the motor ran and as soon as i stop the motor stop, now is just keeps running all the time

Take the paint out and turn it on. Do the paddles spin? If they do put your finger in and stop the paddle. The clutch should kick in and stop the paddles but the motor should still run. Take your finger off the paddles and they should spin again. As soon as the loader feels you shooting paint the paddles automatically kick in and push the next ball into the breech.
Is that what yours is doing?

While we're on the subject, just got me a torque and am having the opposite (which I thought was normal until I read this lol). With nothing in the hopper, the paddles spin, I stick a finger in and stop the paddles. The motor also stops though (unless I'm going deaf). No noise, which is good, but this may explain why I killed a few batteries very quickly. Any ideas what I need to do?
Edit: If I push downwards on the paddles the motor spins so I would assume that the clutch spring is too tight, but can't figure out how to get at it.

All the ones I have seen still have the motor spinning and the clutch working when you stop the paddles. The disc on top the paddles should spin too while the paddles stay still. From memory isnt there a screw in the top of the disc above the paddles? Im 90% sure there is and I wold imagine that might be too tight or something. Have a go at loosening that a touch.
Will get home tomorrow and look at mine :)

The disc on top spins freely, and having played about, the screw seems to be a formality in case the disc comes off (which it didn't want to do) and doesn't actually adjust anything. It feeds paint without breaking it so I'll survive :p, but after a few hours reballing today it had killed the batteries. I can only guess that this clutch business is at the heart of it. Cheers for help nige, much appreciated. Lemme know if I'm being retarded (as is so often the case)
