After buying a second hand shocker, I decided to test fire it. The balls seemed to take on a slight swerve, which I thought was strange because I hadn't had a ball break. So I checked the barrel and the insides had lost the polished shine. So I cleaned it out and found it was caped in grease. Dry fired it again and another layer of grease appeared. So I checked the bolt and it had grease oozing out of the sizes, so I cleaned it up leaving a thin layer and tried again. Another layer of grease appeared in the barrel but this time no where near as much. Is this a common thing with shockers or is there just far too much grease in the bolt assembly, or has some grease got somewhere it shouldn't?

its a common problem with shockers, they dont reacte to well to gun oil so have to lubed up with Dow33, generally a good even coating on the internals will suffice, i generally redo it every couple of months or so. The bolt needs to be greased up very tornament and you will need to dry fire it off to stop the grease build up. I have put a delrin bolt in mine and the rest of freakshows shockers as this stops the need to grease the bolt head up so you just need to grease the bolt rod which does not blow it into the barrel.

I still have some Delrin bolt heads left if your intrested, E-mail me and ill give you a price

cheers
