Thanks for the suggestions though.;) and maybe i'll see you up there next year

Liz - Campaign fields were fun... You should have seen Stuart's face when he saw the back bunkers - he was not a happy bunny.
I actually adored the Raven field with that pastie in the centre back. We really bonded (me & the pastie) & I spent many happy minutes kneeling behind it.
You wouldn't get into the Witton Castle event this late anyway, there's more teams than planned for already which is why I suggested next year. You will love either of the Scun thorpe sites especially as we tend to party until closing time at the pub next to the Travel Inn, then the sites are only 10-15 minutes drive in the morning. Have a look at http://www.tournamentpaintball.co.uk/ for more info on the series - next year's dates should be up any day now :)

We faced Dynasty on the Raven field... It was short, sharp and very painful!

i played you at Temple and i dont think that you played badly at all. I am starting to realise that Am and Pro players rely a lot on total domination, i.e not even letting the player look out of his/her bunker at all during a game. this is something that Nov teams cannot do due to financial restrictions. no novice team can expect to go out and dominate a pro or Am team because they wouls almost always carry less paint onto the field. taking as an extreme example, Overlord against Dynasty, the back players from Dynasty probably carry as much paint as your entire team did. (i saw bob long form the Ironmen with 18 pots at one stage!!!!!!!!!!!!)

A case of this domination was clear in the game that i played against you at Temple, the last guy in, behind the center back stand up was being shot at by four players, covering both sides, he couldnt come out at all and therefore had no way of stopping me from mugging him (which i did). i dont think that it was a case of all of you playing too lose (which some of your team did, hence they got shot out), but more of a case that you were overpowered.

i doubt that you would have had the same kind of day had you been playing in the Nov division.

More reasons for the defeats you suffered could be that the pro and Ams were just better and more accurate with the first few shots that they fired, or that cos of their ststus they had better tecnioques and better tactics.

there was nothing that you did wrong other than being out played, which is expected of Novice teams against Ams, and then Ams against Pros

see you on the 10th Nov at Temple!!!!! As long as enough teams want to attend!!!!! Come on guys, lets get as many teams down there as possible and make it a tourney to remember!!! after all, the weather may decide to cancel the other tourneys there untill January!!!!! The next may be the last for a while!!!!! MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE THERE EVERYONE!!!!!:D

It dosn't take alot of paint to dominate, a rapid accurate burst to
push the player in, then just a couple random bursts (accurate
and well timedare the key) the top level of play involves a lot of mind games, domination is a mind set, you need the confidence
in your play and team mates, you need to be hyper aware,
sounds and feelings and instincts, playing with the same guys alot helps, you know what they will do in a given situation.

Trading is definately a bad, most of the time the best you can hope for is both of you get taken out, if your a back man you can not afford to let this happen, the best bet is to get in and wait for a gap in the paint to snap shoot.

Stan, instead of blowing a fortune at temple just to get shot at, why not come up to a few of our training days. Held fortnightly, very relaxed, sessions with emphasis on actual training rather than shootin crap outa each other.
