What happened to the three strike rule fellas?
i believe he'd been good all day, until this point.

he had a nearly brand new mask on, ie about two weeks old.

i think somethin had happened to his gun and he has had infact sh!t himself. got a lil bit 'kill or be killed' style.

On the legal side of things, I sat in on a talk about liabilty (not about P-ball specifically, but it applies anyway).
If you, the site, have provided all the necessary safety equipment and have showed them how to use it and why. When they still purposefully remove that safety equipment, they are subject to contributory negligence, in other words, its their own damn fault, they are adults and are aware of the risks they are taking in removing the goggles, depsite your warnings. SO if they tried to sue, they should not be successful.

If the goggles fell off due to being faulty or badly maintained, then the site would be screwed!

Anyway, sounds like you did exactly the right thing, and Robins advice about holding them down with the goggles in place would be justified if you are able to do it safely, ie, you are big enough to pin them without struggling.

Also the self defence single strike should be ok, but it might not do the site rep too good and you may have to do the whole court hearing thing, which would be a pain in the ass, but maybe worth it ;)

There is a site near Derby that has a dog, the dog only has one eye....
When I played there we got to the flag bases of the first game and I look around to see one of the players with his goggles on his forehead tinkering with his gun!
I felt like shooting him in the face to prove the point... Good job I'm not like that eh? (I wasn't marshalling there...)

As HP said...

... this guy had been fine, I was busy trying to give him a three strike rule, but after the 5 time I gave up and resorted to "persuading" him to put the mask on.
He didn't really give me enough time to give him 3 strikes to be honest! Even if I had he still would have swung for me!

Screw the three strike, just pin the prick down or physically drag him back to the safe zone, trust me ive done both and its the most effective, then let rob deal with him in that way that only rob can

yeah...

... unfortunatly Mr Goober missed out on the Rob treatment, I was taking guns apart when he disappeared... little ****e!
Again, HE WAS BIGGER THAN ME... what does everyone suggest you should do if you are on your own, with no chance of help and a guy is getting violent... any amazing suggestions? Other than taking self defence classes or carrying a Glock!

you generally find that...

the biggest people are the most benevolent of them all! as throughout life you have to get used to not reacting to things because of the damage you can potentially do if you were to react... learn that back in my secondary school days when i hospitalised someone...only hit them the once though..so technically it was self defence
