That sounds like an ok starter deal.

IMO it would deffinately be worth spening the xtra money on getting a decent pair of JT goggles. Steamin up is the last thing you want to think about on the field.

Also for $200 (I think), you can get an Inferno Terminator. An absoloutly spanking gun that is tournament able. It will save you hundreds if you decide to progress in the sport.

I'm a newbie too and I was thinking about getting a Tippmann 98 Custom? Would a Spyder TL Plus be better? I'm looking for a gun that will be very durable and not need alot of upkeep if possible.

I wouldn't buy a spyder for my first gun, i would buy a tippman M98. They are reliable and easy to maintain. They are easily upgradable and cheaper than TL's. The only bad thing about them is they are damn long, but that can be avoided by putting a HUGE drop foward on them. Hope what i had to say helped.

A tippmann 98 custom would run you about 124 bucks on 888paintball.com, I recommend it over a spyder. I've used a spyder sonix, raptor silver eagle, and a tippmann 98, the tippmann proved to have the best performance and reliability out of the three. Its a great gun for the price, and has room for upgrades.

I wouldn't really recommend a 20 oz tank unless your getting a remote and harness with it, they are bulky and could be more of a burden than anything. 14 oz works well enough though.
