tips on cleaning gear for the mrs !

I bung it all in the wash on a low temp and just a little bit of powder, like 1/5th normal amount. Never really had any problems, but dont blame me if you do :)

Except the battle pack, I just wipe it down, or smear more mud onto it.

I also had this question about washing playing pants etc... so whats the general opinion hand wash or machine wash...? My mrs has questioned using the machine and having it on high spin... she reckons the pads will get all screwed up...

Thoughts...?

machine = cleaner, but more likely to damage
hand = safest, including keeping colour but definitely doesn't get properly clean.

so long as it isn't a high heat when using the machine, padding and such shouldnt get distorted. If its the kind of trousers that have removable pads for example, they may move out of place after a spin but you should be able to move them back without too much bother.
