Jumped up Spyder that can be great, or tempremental or...purpose designed one off BRITISH..super gat? Nope I dont have an EGO...but, I have seen so many problems with Timmys...and for what they are, well..I would have an EGO to be honest. Ive never seen any problems with EGO's...heard of them yes, but I have shot a couple of EGO's now...and they were very good. Besides, they are cheaper than Timmys!

Although i haven't owned either, I have had some experience with both guns in a training environment....here it is as i see it

Timmy
+ Tried and tested platform used by many top teams across the world
+ Large amount of after market parts
+ Many different body variants
- Due to the wight and construction they are considered cheap feeling to some (such as me)
- Some upgrades considered necessary for best use (adjustable ram cap if using Halo)
- Software upgrade either require replacement board or current board to be sent to the states to be updated
- Non backlit screen at a funny angle isn't the most user friendly

Ego
+ Cheaper than the Timmy at last check
+ Light but feels very solid and well made
+ Made in blighty by planet so good service is granted
+ Nice user friendly set-up with easy to use display, good for anyone who's used to an eblade. Trigger filtering is useful once set correctly
+ Nice snappy magnetic trigger ( a matter of opinion of course)
+ Software can be updated (by Planet) using a data link cable
+ A number of top level teams are changing to the Ego, including previous Timmy teams
+ Planet run tech courses so support is expanding and very useful if you want to learn to service the marker yourself
- Currently only one body shape design
- New marker and has had some teething problems with the eyes and a few revised parts already
- Nothing in the way of specific after market/custom parts just yet

By no means a compressive list but a few suggestions for you.

Both guns are as fast as each other, if buying new then only the newest generation of Alias Timmy should be considered in my opinion. Try both and see which you prefer, design wise they are very very similar with the Ego having the edge as it is a newer product. Contrary to that there are a hell of a lot of Timmys out there and the platform really dominated last year....things change though.

Personally I'd prefer an Ego 'cos it feels much more solid and it's English made...but only if i could get it in an anno i really like and i can't say I'm in love with the standard milling. I've heard some rumblings about a new C&C design for teams such as XSV but don't hold your breath. An 05 Ripper Intimidator in silver & red or blue would be lovely.....shame it would cost an arm and a leg and they are rare as rocking horse ****.

i had a quick go of the Ego the other week, its as light as a feather even with a bottle on, its fast as hell and it is extremely acurate. It also hardly ever breaks balls.
