With a GZ when you turn it on the LED flashes green, hold the bolt forward (or jsut block the eyes) and fire 3 shots, the LED will flash red at each shot (saying the eyes *might* be faulty) and then after 3 shots with the bolt forward the LED will flash Orange and the gun will be limited to 12bps with the eyes off.
So don't epext the gun to be super quick with the eyes off, it's limited to 12bps as the idea is if you got a chop it's limited to keep with the loader.
I think both the SOB (which you are likely to have) and the WAS board (if you open the grip and it's a blue PCB it's WAS) use the same LED sequence for the eyes.
Once the eyes are off you have to turn the gun off and on again to reset them, you can't turn them on.
