Oh, right, that is helpful.

It might be that the eyes are becoming misaligned. I had that problem on my Dark. The eye covers that were used didn't hold the eyes in place very well, so when jostled, they didn't always point at one another. I fixed this by wadding up some paper towel and sticking into the cavity on the inside of the eye cover.

Detentes do seem like a likely culprit, although the 2004 and later detentes were a lot better than the old style ones.

You using soft or hard detents? I had this problem. Turned out my reloader was double feeding because of the soft detents. Changed to hard and problem was solved. Only having one detent will definatly cause you the same problem as well if your using a force feeding hopper.

the eyes are working fine. Im guessing its the detents then. Scars is hooking me up with some of those. I has the bolt with the groves for the detents so hard ones are not needed. Now i think of it the day it started chopping was the same day i noticed a detent had broken, and it only seemed to chop when i fired fast, which is always:D

yeh, but if your bolt doesnt have the goves the bolt is constantly bending the detents so more pressure is put on them so they break quicker. So i no hard ones are better but standard ones will do me fine.

wel i cant get any hard ones at the moment so im gonna have to do with standard ones for now. They have served me well for ages, i knew they were going to break sometime, i just didnt realise how expencive new ones were.
