I think y'all are missing out on the real possibilities here. G-K mentioned the popularity of the ST thread as well as the debate, humor and rumors that it has engendered. These are all good things -- to be replicated at every opportunity.
Perhaps it's too much to ask but wouldn't Tuesday Afternoon PB Fights be a kick? raehl vs. Robo, scrapping about whatever, the price of tea in China or the relative merits of dry cleaning. You know it would devolve into a good old fashioned verbal throw down. Which would be awesome--and attract lots of attention.
Given Pete's blood pressure that may not be viable
but how 'bout an alternative? Set-up periodic "debates" of various PB issues and let a specific group of combatants thrash it out, no holds barred? This is a great idea, if I do say so myself (and I just did). Early on it should be Celebrity Throw Down and perhaps it could later be opened up to occasional bouts featuring the "best" of the registered users.

I'll confess to sweaty palms but, dammit, Jay, I do not dribble--or drool. And the sweaty palm thing is really a genetic problem (I come from a long line of palm sweaters sadly) and something I'd rather not talk about if you don't mind.
C'mon, matski, it's not about the prizes--this is PB after all, it's about the competition and laying the smack down.
Actually, we could combine this idea with whats being talked about on the new king of the hill thread over in MLT. There could be a combination of verbal abuse followed by Gladiator style p8nt throw downs. People with problems could challenge each other, so instead of bickering endlessly there would be some score to assess the finality of an argument. Points would be awarded for clarity and conciseness of the debate and added to the deathmatch paint scores. Sort of like taking the little kid that stole your timmy on Judge Judy (no offense LJ), but more fun. It would be the ultimate mental and physical challenge.....to the XTREME! The only catch is that everyone that participates has to use names like Nitro, or Dynamite or something sufficiently cheesy and they have to yell alot when they talk.
That would be me. I'm down for whatever, but I'm no celebrity, so I'll wait in the cheap seats.
