Its always nice to know how your balls fly, even when there are no resistances ;)

Good working and research, and I like the impartial view on things.

he is obviously wront coz everyone knows that if you paint your marker red and have it running full auto the the bullets always fly super fast and i never miss with my red spydermagcocker!

There are just too many variables and he didnt incorporate some of the most important ones in his equations. The equations are very sound if a paintball had an equal distribution of mass thoughout its body (has the same density) but thats just not the way it is. For instance, if you spun an egg versus an object made of wood the same weight and size of the egg, they would have different spin characteristrics. In the end there are just way too many variables to deal with when it comes to calcualting how a paintball will fly. He also forgot to include air friction, and a number of other things. Comparing closed bolt and open bolt designs and how they would effect a paintball would take years of research in a physics lab alone. So I personally think this a gross over simplification.

All credit to the guy for sitting down and putting some thought in to a opten ingnored area of our sport.

How ever one error i noticed was the assumption that once the ball has left the barrel the marker exerts no force on it.

Place a ball on the table and dry fire one shot at it from 6 inchs away. I'm pretty sure it will move.

Now have that same ball going 300 fps and lets see you hit it!!
