Hmmm..off

Thank you for your constructive answer...what happens if someone does injure themselves, and it can be directly linked to the lack of protective gear..did you think of that? law suits are expensive..especially when certain tournaments are in their infancy.

It's a bad move..to take that safety gear away because little bee-hatches are crying when their balls don't break.
Metal studs..too so now people can slip over coz they ain't got no grip...?

Let's forget safety...we must maintain the bunkers , and we would rather you receive shock/impact related injuries to your limbs than a ball bouncing?????????????

True as saftey may be, but at the end of the day the decision is down to the individual player themselves to wear what seems appropriate padding to them. If they wear a dye top with sown in padding, thats 1mm thick, as apposed to proper padding at 3-4mm thick and break there arm then thats there fault. The rules are layed, and you sign an insurance paper based on the rules given. It will not hold up in court, and it will be your fault.

Oh, cant wait till next event. Looking forward to kicking ass nam style!! :D

Laterz,
Darren

In the UK, you CANNOT indemnify yourself from a lawsuit if it can be proved that you are negligent... I've had to take enough lawyer mates out to stag weekends and stuff to have heard it a thousand times over that those little scraps of paper mean jack sh*t cos any lawyer worth his salt will go for the negligence charge straight off the bat... in fact, it's often so easy to argue the case this way that this is how those "no win no fee" cowboys operate... :(

C4 tops were on shakey ground when they were launched, because of the padding!
Simple answer would be to ban padded shirts altogether.
Safety gear is NOT being taken away. You are choosing not to wear it, by wearing a shirt with padding.

Metal cleats on a paintball field are dangerous and can damage expensive bunkers...plastic cleats are not banned......so wear them!

Then again maybe the simpelist answer to avoid risk of injuries and law suits is to simply stop organising/running any events and ban paintball altogether, to avoid risk of litigation!!!

Think happy thoughts.........

don't the americans wear dye jerseys and padding?

no-one is forcing them to play... most people who play tourny ball know whats involved.... surly if they play and hurt them selves by sliding or diving isnt it just a case of oh well.. dont do it again?

as for the female chest protection does that mean that the mrs can where this under her playing top?.. or is it a different type?

The breakout fences at the PA are the most dangerous I have ever seen.

You have guns up at the start (so you arent looking where you are treading) and every player has to clamber over the fence supports at full tilt once game on is called.

Its just a matter of time before someone trips on one of those!!!

Please turn up at the next event and please show me how on earth you think the start gates can be classed as unsafe.
We have on site at all events the Health and Safety officer for the UKPSF and he is under instruction to advise the PA commitee of any possible problems he sees Of course you may be better informed than he is - but I doubt it.

Maybe we should start all games with the players hoppers empty in case someone is daft enough to shoot his team mate in the back of his/her head.

In my first reply I forgot to put a smilie on the end. "Sorry"

In reply to your next post "if any injury is linked to a lack of protective gear" Thats down to them we have not banned any protective gear.
What we have done is have the balls to say we will not let you use something in an unfair way and we are not bothered who makes it.
And as for law suits!! - thats why we have insurance because we do know the country is infested with no win no fee scum.
The no metal cleats rule is in every rulebook i have ever read and if you think about it for a while you might work out why.
And if you need to encourage bouncing instead of relying on your skill you can always choose to play any other event.;) .

On a personal note I do not think the Dye tops offer any extra advantage to the player but they do break our rules as written and thats why they are included.
