Great Day

It will be said far into next week how good this tourney was, but I would like to mention Upminster.

They played their socks off.

1 game they launched WITHOUT 4 of their guns, and a brave display from their 50 guy in the T bag they managed 4 kills before they were overwhelmed.

The team at the moment is a group of 7 individuals, but when the team work kicks in they will be great. A lot of young talent and motivation in this team. I just hope they keep it together and no one else poaches the players.

Well done Upminster.

Well done all the teams.

See ya next month

our game against you guys was quite possible the second best we had all day your guys were damn good... as i was reloading my halo one of your guys hit the lid and shut it .... awesome game.... but the end was in our favour, great game. our best match was against Sunderland Topguns, those guys were really nice guys it was a pleasure playing against them and it was our first mugging of a team ... actually felt bad after it, but we got spanked by fatbobs leeds, andy had them on drugs i swear i call for drug test next time ;)

Had a great day, I really learnt a lot playing against the 'Big Boys'.

I now know how much work I have to do to get anywhere near that level.

Big thanks to all the organisers, excellent job. Especially liked the idea of all the fields starting at the same time.

A couple of suggestions for next time. Some may be possible other might not be.

The playing fields and surrounding areas need to be rolled, they were really uneven.

Each team needs more than one table for seven players.

Field three was excellent and promoted movement but some of the other fields needed more cover in the middle, they just degenerated into a firefight.

The back of the chrono area needs to be fully boarded, paint was going straight through the plastic with the potential for people walking round the back being hit.

If this facility is permanent how about renting it out to other tourny series. Maybe PGI 7's could play on the Saturday and the PA on the Sunday. Series 2004 another week and the MM/KOTH another week. That would mean it could be used three weekends a month, might help pay its way. This would be excellent for me as I only live 15 miles away!:D

One last idea I have just thought of, probably not possible, for the first year how about a 'one up one down' to help teams get to play at the right level. A year is a long time in paintball!

These are all minor things which goes to show what an excellent setup it was to start with.

I agree the fields were not always flat but after it rained it got ripped to pieces again.

I think it will settle as the season progresses.

For other series using it there is your argument and the other side which (I dont speak for the PA here at all) why should they let other people take the credit and good organisation for them?

People should be trying to raise the bar here not be able to cash in on the other. (Playing devils advocate)

As I know they are calling it the PA National Arena (or something) and they would prob love to bring other people into the fold??

It was a great day and I think staging is always a bit cramped but atleast it kept us warm

There was no moaning from our team, mate. Can't speak for Just So Stockport.

PeeGee was wiped down (correctly so) if that was the weird decision you are on about.

Cheers Neil,

Really enjoyed our game against you guys - as you say all our games were played in the true spirit of the sport. Everyone playing hard - rippin' into one another and then shaking hands at the end and talking about the game.

I honestly believe that the standard of teams in Div 2 & 3 is very similar. We have played all level of teams over the past year and yesterday provided some of the toughest games we have had.

Great to see so many spectators turning up too - i was chatting to a couple of guys who kept saying - can't believe how well organised a sport it is - we thought it was only played in the woods. They stayed most of the afternoon and watched all the games they could - said it was really exciting and how do they get involved. Another 2 converts !!!
