Yeah, I was thinking that soon 'guns will be required to have some sort of built in crony that if the 'gun fired a single shot over 310 fps (after the cronoing procedures) it would shut off. I know noone would want this in their 'gun, but if EVERY one had one, and each one had to be activated by the Judge before each game, it could be an effective way to keep people from shooting hot.

Yeah, we sorta discussed this in the Designer Cheating thread, with attatchable chronos to constantly update a monitor that 'monitors' (go figure  ) the speed of the balls that leave the barrel of every player. It's better explained here, check it out:

The next "big thing" won't happen. A player's comission that reviews player behavior. Also, an umbrealla corporation that has buisness people, not players, who reviews rules year to year, and passes rules and regulations. This would bring paintball up to par with other regulated sports like footy, baseball, and basketball.

But, won't happen.

Markers like the IR3 already have enough electronics in them to put digital camera's to shame so let's take the chrono thing one stage further... on-marker monitoring and automatic adjustment.

Imagine arriving for a tourney, assembling your marker, walking out to the goggle area, turnin gon the marker, and firing five shots straight out. The markers onboard chrono checks velocity and electronically adjusts the gas flow to bring the velocity within acceptable limits. The display light's up a 'Tourney Safe' light. Monitoring and auto adjust continues during the game, with the fps being tansmitted on a set frequency to the field marshals hand-held PDA. More then three shots in a row locks out the marker.

No more hot markers, instant on-field chrono, and no more screwing around with lock nuts are allan(?) keys.
