Hey,

Always planned on having this done before Xmas, though didn't think I'd be cutting it this close

The little film I shot end of August is now all ready to step into the big wide world. 4 minutes of unrealistic paintball action, hopefully some people will get a kick out of it :)

Just go to my Chainsaw Films website, it's in the Short films section.

DivX versions currently online, low res 10 meg and medium 30 meg - please get the medium res if your connection can handle it, the low res is just for those with dialup really, the picture is pretty poor.

Feedback is appreciated. I've done my best to be respectful to the spirit of paintballing while making something exciting and action packed.

Thanks a lot, and a merry Xmas!

Matt

Me likes

Not at all bad. I will say that the bit when he jumps over the bunker totally threw me off, as it was a "what the...?" moment. The rest of it is very good though, especially the last shot. As for keeping the paintball politically correct, I think you've pulled it off very well. I think if anything it's very positive and entertaining to watch.

Yeah very good m8, especially seeing as you had pretty much no budget. Just one very minor point from me, the peoples voices could have been a bit louder, found myself turning up my speakers to hear them then down again when the marker sounds and music started.

All in all tho very good.

Yeah I'd be interested in seeing this Splat thing, to see how it compares :)

Glad no-one's came down hard on the film. My concerns with this groups reaction were that I was taking paintball-related liberties. Obviously the curving paintball isn't that practical but you never know, it may get you out of trouble one day :p

Glad the fact the Agent's don't walk off the field and simply "go" instead doesn't offend, was dicey grounds on how to deal with that aspect - believe me, walking off a pitch is not very cinematic!

Sound mix was dodgy, I had the volumes as loud as it'd go without distorting. I recorded my pieces of dialogue on a laptop mic! Doing the mix, was very surprised just how different it sounds on a variety of setups. Ultimately mixed it on my TV setup, it's quite shocking doing a comparison with how it sounds on the PC speakers

I may do other formats, I have it as an mpeg2 ready to burn on DVD, I'll up it if there's any demand (about 300 megs I think). DivX seems the best all-round codec, it's free. I'll just say, get the CODEC and NOT the DivX Player that seems to be a problem. With the codec it'll work fine with Real or whatever default movie player you have installed on your PC. Sound is mp3 so if you only get sound and no picture, it's the codec.

Please keep the feedback coming.

Thanks

Matt
