Ok, linking SUVs to terrorism is opportunist oversimplification. It is like the anti-drug commercials that claimed (with a bit more justice) that doing drugs supports terrorism.
How about this: SUVs are dangerous to drivers of other cars in accidents, are rarely used as off road vehicles, are more fuel hungry and therefore consume a resource we only have a limited supply of anyway. Most SUV owners like the roominess, but that space could be had without the ground clearance of a military vehicle and matching fuel economy.
