The hopper or the feedneck?

Hi all,

My current setup is a slightly-upped Ion (trigger, ASA) with a 3000psi tank and an Egg (VL Evolution II) hopper. Now although when playing speedball (which I have only twice) the hopper has never fallen out, it doesn't feel hugely sturdy in the feedneck. It isn't loose in the feedneck and takes a bit of twisting to get it fully in (pardon the expression ) but when I'm moving the gun quickly (i.e. at the start of the game where I snap the gun round) the Egg hopper turns to the side slighty or something, indicating it isn't held well by the feedneck.

I realise Egg's are rather back heavy and this won't help, but I'm wondering whether I should invest lots of money on a Halo or if the problem will be exactly the same and I should've got a Q-Lock feedneck instead.

Please let me know your thoughts :)

Cheers,

-Will

as tom37 said in that thread, if your hopper is not tight then try duct or electrical tape around the feedneck on the hopper

edit...tom37, you beat me to it lol

Guys, the hopper fits in the feedneck fine. It just doesn't feel very sturdy. Just want to know whether buying a better feedneck would be the answer, rather than a whole new hopper.

Thanks mikey.

One of the recommended ups you see mention about for ions is a clamping feedneck. In fact in the case of most markers a clamping feedneck is required.

would be nice if hopper makers settled on a standard diameter feedneck, but then there is just as much chance getting standard barrel threads.

No brainer get a nice new clamping feedneck on it :D
