... but it's chopping paint like a serial killer cutting limbs, and winging curve balls like a pro baseball pitcher.

Hi, I'm after some help from some Ego pros who know their stuff !

I've had my Ego6 about 3 weeks ... and although v.v.v.chuffed with it, I'm having a spot of bother with breaks in the barrel (Dye Ultralite .692) and balls winging off target every now and again. Anyone have any ideas on this, maybe whether i need to change settings (dwell etc), paint, barrell ...

I'm at a bit of loss at getting this bad boy set up tight !

Thanks for any help fellas

Andy.

Make sure your HALO or Reloader isn't set too high..it has a tendency to fracture teh paint, which then breaks when teh bolt hits it or gets blown apart when fired.

Trust me...I use mine on setting 2 on my V35
Mikey - nice one chap, hoping I get it sorted too. Is a pain in the proverbials right now !

Skeet - ah this might be the problem then, I had the Reloader on setting 1 and it was too slow, and cranked it up to 3. I'll give it a spin on 2 and see how I get on then fella !

Cheers guys

Battery, first and foremost change that.

Then make sure your regs are set properly (see tech vids on planet)

Make sure your air system is OK as well.

Things like dwell etc make so little difference in the scheme of things.

Everything above is dead on. Might also want to check detents for signs of damage. But that is unlikely due to the age of the unit.

If all of that fails give planet a ring

I've had 3 Ego's now ( or is it 4 ??? lol)

Any problems I've found are usually with:

1. Detents - always check these - breaks like you describe are usually from these.

2, Empire / Halo - always had mine on 3 and been fine.

3. I think the standard Shaft is a .689 - so maybe the paint / barrel match is an issue

4. Front Reg - lower pressure on this and dial up with vertical reg - should make it softer on paint and less kick ( or is that my imagination ?? lol) I notice the difference when I tinker with this - also far more contistant over chrono.

Can't comment on bolts as I've always been happy with standard open faced bolt.

Stock bolt on an 06 is not bad. But I think the whole thing with the DART bolt varies alot. I have used a DART in my Nexus many times and have never had any trouble with it.
