I cut about 1,5 cm of it I think. but remember to screw it as far inside the piece that holds it to the sear as you can so that you have some marginal if you cut the rod too short.

I think you can still make it work if you drill and tap for the set screws as I did. But the trigger as it is will have far more movement forward. Which might or might not cause some problems with the sear bottom.
Yeah I think you are right about too much forward travel. I am going to hunt for a new trigger and drill through the back to support the rod. Cheers dude
