I'v never played the masters!

Me + Skeg played our first game of sup air the last wendsday of March 2008, so we haven't been playing long, Das_ist only joined us afew months after.

Nicky T is holding a clinic at the NSPA site where i used to play, hes one of the reasons for my accelarated skill growth in such a small period of time.
Contact fleming.rob@gmail.com, hes only got one ticket/space to sell as he cannot make it himself. NSPA is 2hours drive away from NQ, i highly recommend Nicky's clinic if you want to improve!
Skeg and Das-ist also went to a nexus clinic awhile back, anything is great to gain experience and to have some personal tution!
That spot has already been taken by Little Connor, he needs all the help and training I can get him. He is not consistent and therefore scary to play with. There again Wozzza constantly reminding me how gay i look when i forget to shoot with my left hand has been a blessing. Have learnt more from the firm than anywhere else in the last 10 months.

I felt sorry for the team that was down on Saturday.

They lost every single game and I am sure it has put them off ever coming to the NQ again which is a shame.

I was in a simular situation at the start of the newbie tourny back in June and was nearly put off ever coming down again because we got beaten so badly by some of the teams on the day.

I'm pleased I stuck at it and can see myself getting better each time and didn't mind getting shot to pieces on Saturday because it was a learning experience but I can see why some new teams can get put off so easily.

Plus a team with the same name as your selves played at ours last December was that you?
Someone may well of had our team names, But us three that played as mambas only formed 7 months ago, People at the nspa can vouch for that, We'v all got recepts of our first markers no doubt if proof needed

I must say first off i'm very disappointed to read the last few posts - Markie, i emailed you saying how long we have been playing and you said that was more than fine!!!!

If you want someone to back up how long we have been playing then by all means ask dave and wendy auton fromt the masters, sure they will give you an honest answer!!!!

We started about 6-7 months ago at the nspa and our first night we were against some excellent teams in Monks, Rastas BZ etc etc and we got hammered, really hammered but we soldiered on on got to where we are now (all be it not very good)

I must say we did feel a bit bad when we were playing the other 2 teams but should we be forfeited for playing better than another team??????

I'm sure there are plenty of people that can vouch for us on here that we have been playing in the time period we have disclosed to you, i feel rather disgusted that people don't actually believe what we are saying. We have not come here to try and "STEAL" away the markers and act as "ringers" in this tournament.

I take it that we will not be recieving our prize for coming 1st then?

Mambas

I would also like to say that I know i was not present at the tournament, however I do play for the Black Mambas and have been playing for them since they (we) started back about 7 months ago or so.

If you agreed to let the guys play based on the infomation they have given you which is correct then they have as much right to the prize as anyone.

The Black Mambas have been playing paintball for 7 months against better players mainly based at the NSPA paintball site consistently every month and have progressed in skills and will continue to play against difficult players and get better and better that is our aim.

I hope you will change your opinion on this matter.

Cheers

Mambas

I can confirm this also. The Mamba's started playing earlier this year at NSPA and are regularly playing most Wednesdays at the 3-man and Fight Club nights, not to mention training whenever time and money permits.
They are keen to learn and should not be penalised for trying to step up for their first ever Masters tournament. Is that not, after all, how we want players to progress ?

Just goes to show that regular training can improve your game two fold.

I think the reason you guys stuck out so much on Saturday was because you were playing one team who was made up of three single players and a team that obviously were total beginers.

You play in the Ionman so have had tournament experience which must help a great deal.

Well done for improving your game to this standard in such a short period.

Did'nt really get to talk to you guys much on the day. (Think you had your game faces on)

Good Luck in the Masters next year if thats where you are heading.

I myself didn't mind getting beat I never do, its all part of the learning curve.

I was hoping the lads would of stayed but I think they lost heart and the rain did not help.

You should play the masters next year, like a previous post from one of your team mates says..you learn from facing more difficult teams.
