But TFP are dictators - just like any other mods any other forum. If you don't have rules you have anarchy. To be fair, those rules have been there since early December 2004!
Jay is only doing his job - and I agree - it was a bit harsh to delete existing posts so sweepingly - but at least it will make people stick to the rules now. Can only be a good thing (although the 'UK' bit does seem a little dated as most sellers and buyers are in the UK - maybe if you are not in the UK you put your country - otherwise UK is assumed

Nope, even if you are in the UK, you have to put it in because:
A) you don't deserve any preferential treatment just because you are an islander.
B) How the hell am I supposed to know who lives in the UK and who doesn't?

As far as heavy handed goes, I only removed threads that went up today. So any threads dated 19th of june or earlier, stayed.

It is possible that a number of threads may have been axed that were older in the initial killing spree. However, after that, I have made a point of looking at the date of the initial post that started the threads.
Still, there is no statute of limitations on forum-crime, so they should have stuck to the rules, and nothing would have happened...
