Apologies Rusty, but that's absolute nonsense.

Plasma is just as good as LCD/LED. I actually prefer it.

It's all down to personal preference and budget. Just make sure you get a "name" brand, don't buy cheap crap. Sorry for the derail but that is bad advice.

I've been installing audio visual equipment on a professional basis for over 10 years so I know what I'm on about.

Plasma offers the best black colours and contrasts, better for quick images Ie. action movies etc. However LED is better for bright conditions as they are brighter. You do have the problem of screen burning in plasmas but the top end tv's have screen burn protection. Basically just dont leave a plasma on with a still image for hours :p for me, plasma is the way forward.

Fast action movies = Plasma FTW !!
Ive used a plasma for over a decade without any problems. Plasma vs LCD debate was done and dusted years ago. The only thing to worry about plasma are screens burns from those channels on sky if you have the same channel on 24/7.

my advice stay away from lg ,nothing but problems samsung are good but panasonic are the only ones who specialize in plasma and make nothing above 40 inch that is not plasma , they are the only company who spend lots and lots of money of development of large screen plasma's
