I truly believe that 1 in 150 people are natural players. The rest of us have to work hard at it. I see this at the site I work at. Some 16yr old lad comes down, superman dives, bunkers, runs through teams, but when you tell them about the tournie scene they seem to vanish off of the face of the earth fearing a screaming wallet.

In all honesty, if paintball gets on TV, there will be a huge influx of fresh new players.

Yup, because if you could look at the number of players that went and played paintball when X-fire (something like that) was on it'd probably be a significant increase before it was on TV.

Recruiting players

Yeah are we only trying to recruit one player and no one seems interested, So if you are reading this and are interested contact me before we have to commit to a year of 5 man not seven as we were going to do. You will then get to play at Campaign at the end of the year!!!!!

i work at an indoor site and i truly belive that the "punter" player who comes through the door has an interest in paintball, be it just having a stag do with his mates, or just a youth club having some fun, they like it!. the transitition from "punter" player to either rec-ball(gun owner) or tourney player is a long one. from my experierence they genarally chat a long time to the marshalls and staff and come back a few times before even purchasing a gun (i did the same thing when i started as i suspect most people do/did).

the difference i reckon between the average rec-baller and the tourney player is that he REALLY loves the game and is willing to part with money/time,the rec-baller is just doing it for something to do.

If you want to get "punter" players into the tourney scene u have to make it more accesible. Create the competition aspect, make em wanna come back and beat em next time. "worlsey" used to do "punter" tourneys (prolly 10 years ago now) but it seems that could do with a revamp (i know my own site is trying to add a sup-air aswell) maybe sup-air punter tourneys could be the stepping stone?
