Velocity - fair point that it was only the one player but was he the only one awake at the time? Why didn't any of the rest stop him? Can you clarify whether or not paint was shot?

No he was not the only one awake and the others that were in their rooms and did stop him and clean up the two or three marks on the wall.

Actually I think its moderately funny but could have been much funnier. Seriously, you guys need to lighten up just a bit. Of course it's not a good thing to shoot a marker in your hotel but c'mon. This particular incident seems pretty harmless to me though I confess to being used to slightly more outrageous conduct--now and again. Not that I condone it you see but ...
At the LA Open in 04 we were tossed out of our hotel and it wasn't even us--it was a team beginning with an A and ending in a lanche--but it was sorta understandable since earlier that evening we had come careening into the parking lot in two white vans covered in orange paint and in relatively short order had made a tiny, oh so tiny, mess when ambushing van number 2. (And, yes, shockingly the ambush included two live markers and copious amounts of paint. Bad. Very bad. Do not try this at home or at a tourney. Really. In defense of the scalawags they were stone cold sober at least.) We did however immediately apologise and clean up the mess so when things went bad later that night it was totally unfair to pick on us.

i think its more to do with the uk's (over)reaction to any kind of gun and the fact we are on a very sticky wicket with people recently shooting air rifles and one ******* hitting (read killing) a child which is always going to cause mass hysteria with the gutter press - any act like this that goes wrong could have serious repercussions (sp) for all of us -

As has been pointed out, this was one member of our team and that is being delt with on two sides, one - internally to the team, secondly - with the manager of the hotel for sorting out damages.
On a second note, I am personally extremly worried about this, that it was a member of my team is only secondary to the fact that as everyone knows, safety is paramount to our sport and that this could have some VERY serious repercusions on paintball as a whole. What could have happend if some kid had heard the dry firing and peeked out the door to a room? That thought doesnt even bear thinking about.

hey guys i think they are taking care of the situation quite well and they have apologised many a time so i think its time to let them carry on with their punishments etc
p.s bush nice one for bringing it up other wise none of us wouldda known there are idiots in this sport
