Team velocity, u put shame to our name.

Ok people. With this sport being as dangerous as it is, it is hard for the welcoming public to understand the sport in itself and why we play it. Mainly because of the danger of getin hit and becoming hurt. People ask why we do it.
Now when people go out and buy markers off of ebay just to play around with, we have found that these people have been found to do ''drive by's''past people and shoot them up to ****. This is the main reason for markers to be stop being sold on ebay, for the shere saftey of the public from complete and utter morons.

Now i thought that these people were idiots just being idiots and not caring for other people or the sport.
It is also a reason for people to find the face of paintball to be a stupid one as peope think it is people like them that play the sport. But its not. or is it ???

Me being down at campaign this weekend i was staying in a local travel lodge with my team mates. now we saw that we were staying with other teams from campaign. Now the last night of us staying there, we were to be woken up at 4 in the morn to people airing up there markers, yes u herd right, and having a quiok game of paintball in the hall ways of the hotel.
Now this is just insane with the sport of paintball being at a delicate stage as it is to beign accepted into the cool veriety of sport and not down right stupid. I find there are people like this on the tournament scene who are just complete and utter morons.
If someone were to open there door to find out what the racket was about, then who knows what could have happened.
Please people if u know more about it please put up your views, or if u r on the team i wana hear y u thought this had to b done. please please please get back to me

That is simply obscene. I, for one, am glad you're bringing this to light because this happens at just about every major tournament, both in Europe and in the States. Many a night I've had my sleep disturbed by blasting markers in another hotel room. And I've had our rental car shot a few times too, obviously from a hotel window. It's a wonder that any hotels that have had tourney players still allow us back. I have heard more than one hotel manager say that they never wanted paintball players again, including one at Huntington Beach.

I think all the major leagues need to have a very clear-cut rule about making markers publicly visible and discharging them (paintballs or just air) anywhere off-site while attending a tournament. Discharging markers should be penalized with a hefty fine and a minimum one-year ban. This should be enforced by anyone connected with the tournament organization or anyone on the officiating staff. This should be very seriously published on the tournament website and on the materials handed to the teams upon registration and mentioned emphatically at the captains' meetings.

C'mon folks! We have got to get a hard on about advancing and improving the image of our sport. That means we might have to risk being considered dicks by knocking on some doors and maybe becoming tattle-tales. And the leagues have got to grow a pair or we're going to lose the whole shabang.

That's disgraceful. Dry firing in rooms (for teching or otherwise) is bad enough as it is, but to run amok in a hotel brandishing markers is just c*ntish.

prety sure, they were the team in the room next to us, and with me being friendly with the hotel manager, they said it was the paintballers next door to us so i am pretty sure it was.

OK lets take this from the top.

Yes there was an incident of a marker being fired in the corridor of our hotel by a member of the team in the early hours.

Yes its the stupidest thing I have ever heard of or seen to do with our sport.

We on Velocity are fully aware of the possible repercussions of such an incident and will deal with the person responsible with regards to the team.

I have spoken at length to the General Manager of the hotel to explain the following.

These very stupid incident were the actions of ONE paintballer and only one. It does NOT in any shape involve other members of Velocity or any other paintballers staying at the hotel or any other player playing at CC2005.

The player involved will be sorting out any damage and compensation directly with the hotel and no further action will then be taken by the hotel chain against him, myself ( as I booked all the teams rooms ), the team or any other players and teams with regards to taking bookings in the future.

As others have stated this is NOT the first time someone has been stupid enough to fire a marker anywhere but where it should be fired ie on a paintball field.

We as a team have called a meeting to discuss the action we will take with regards to the player involved as the fact he had a bit to drink is really not going to cover it. Lots of players at CC2005 had a lot to drink but I have not heared of any other incidents like this one.

This incident has totally destroyed Velocity's CC2005 and will be resolved to everyones satisfaction.

Bush, please get your facts right before you start slurring the whole team. This is not the whole team just one very drunk member who regretted it very much in the morning and has apologised to the Hotel . This does mean to say that just because he was drunk excuses his actions, we as a team are very angry and sorry for anyones loss of sleep etc, any one that knows the team will back us up as a good bunch of guys and this sort of thing is not in our characters and we all regret it very much as we had such an awesome time.
