team-name in use?

Hello guys.
After spending hours and hours at different forums, I've read many threads regarding teamnames, mostly the ones about teamnames that is in use by others.

So I wonder, is there any common "laws" within the industry in order to obtain different names?

I write this because I play on a team (Apokalypse)
which seems to have a couple of sibblings, I've found a team named Apocalypse in 'Cali and one in GBR... (Apokalypse is just the norwegian version, and the one we use, although our future sponsors, if we get any, would probably say Apocalypse)

So, what to do?
Orginally, this team-name was first used by some friends of mine back in the early 90's, probably around 1996-1997, but as they started their own shop, they stopped playing, but during 2002-2003, myself and some other locals adopted the teamname, and have used it ever since.

I don't consider taking any kinds of legal actions or whatever (and I would probably have lost anyways), but is there anyway to work out things like this without hurting too many...

Of course, we could change our teamname, but that would look kinda stupid since we've used this name all season...
I haven't discussed this matter with the rest of the team yet, and I don't find it necessary, but I need some ideas before I do so)

On a related subject, is there any kind of 'central clearing house' for registering team names?

Wouldn't half be handy for new teams forming, avoiding duplicates etc...

If not, perhaps this site might like to start one?? Moderators - your comments on a postcard please?

If anyone needs to sue other peeps over team names, then they are VERY SAD INDEED.

Or they jus see a money making cash cow -_-

Chopper:
I hear you, thats precisly what I had in mind, maybee we should all get together and start a united organisation for registration of team-names. e.g. paintball-teams.com or something like that, anyone in for it? I wouldn't mind, is there anything I like, it's gotta be organizing stuff...

stongle: yeah, I've thought of it, but I really can't think up any good suggestions... Seems like you guys are pretty good :D

ices:
off course, that's what I'm sayin', it would be very sad if this would happen (I have no intentions doing so what so ever)

Bud: great (and simple, like all great things) suggestion, I think I'll go for that one..:)

Having said all that, I don't see why the Pro and other well known teams should have to 'register' names that are already famous - that's kinda pointless!

So - it would be a waste of time setting up such a list to be 100% authoratitive for all teams. However, as a 'quick reference' for new teams forming it could be useful...
