I think the first question is, are we really that bothered? Jersey looks fine as-is to me - I didn't even notice the lion, with the flag the main focus.

I always believe if you are representing your country, or even a company, you should have the correct logo or emblem, no look like a cheap chinese knock-off !

How about a shield with the 4 symbols of the UK, English rose, Scottish thisle, Welsh dafodil and Irish shamock. You can play rock, scissors and paper to decide which symbol goes where.
